Creating digital assets folders

You may wish to create a similar structure of digital assets folders as the one you created for your groups. For example if you created group folders for Product Development, Sales & Marketing and Human Resources, you may wish to create the same folders for Digital Assets. In that way you can store all digital assets to be used by those departments, in their respective folders.

  1. From the System toolbar, select the Digital Assets Manager.

  2. In the Digital Assets Manager window, click Manage Folders.

  3. On the Manage Folders page, click Add Folder.

  4. Enter the NameName of the new folder.

Digital assets folders are organized alphabetically within a hierarchical folder structure similar to Microsoft Windows Explorer. Because folders are sorted alphabetically, we recommend that you devise a folder naming convention that will make it easy to locate them within the folder hierarchy.

If you use numbers as folder names, the folders will not be sorted numerically. To avoid incorrect sorting, be sure to pad your numbered folders. For example, number your folders 001 through 012, placing leading zeroes at the beginning of the folder so that they all have the same number of characters in the folder name (3 in this example).

  5. Provide a Description of the folder that others will see when viewing folders.

  6. Select the Parent Folder for the new folder. This will determine the folder's location in the folder hierarchy.

  7. Click Save.
